Mommy is in Timeout

It’s funny sometimes what a conversation on Twitter can lead to.

A few weeks ago Dominique, from Midwest Guest, started tweeting that the Wienermobile should make a stop in Detroit.

That conversation then grew with Becks, from Detroit Moxie, Lauren, from Mrs. Weber’s Neighborhood and myself all chiming, agreeing with this idea.

After a few tweets, rallying for the wienermobile to roll into town, we received an email that they indeed would be coming. The great news was that we were all invited down for a ride.

I knew Lanagan would love it, so I jumped at the opportunity. The kids and I spent our first day of summer down in Detroit visiting the Wienermobile.

The Wiener Truck and Wienermobile made a stop in Rivard Plaza on Tuesday where they handed out free hot dogs to the first 1,000 visitors.

Slows Bar-B-Q and their head chef, Brian Perronne, also participated in this event offering several delicious toppings for the hot dogs. I highly recommend adding chili cheese fundido to any Oscar Mayer hot dog. In between wrangling kids, the bites I had were delicious.

The boys loved running around the plaza, but the highlight of the day was by far the ride we took in the Wienermobile.

Our ride was filled with hot-dog puns from our pilot, Ketchup Kylie, and co-pilot, Delicious Dylan, who were both recent grads of Hot Dog High.

We also enjoyed shouts from the backseat driver, Lanagan. I’m pretty sure he’ll be going to Hot Dog High someday. Our co-pilot Dylan told me he’d be a perfect candidate. I tend to agree.

Today’s post is going to be a little bit of a mish-mash filled with an update.

First, one of my bloggy friends, who I also happen to know in real life, interviewed me for a post. Lauren of Mrs. Weber’s Neighborhood did a little Q&A about adding a second baby in the mix. I hope I didn’t scare her away from doing this with with my answers.

Second, Tuesday I head to Detroit to visit the Wienermobile with the kids, Lauren, Becks and Dominique. If you’re in the Detroit area, come down to Rivard Plaza between 11am-1pm – the first 1,000 people will receive a free Oscar Mayer Selects Beef Frank from the new food truck. Last, but certainly not least, a quick update.

For those of you who read my post on Friday, you are aware that on Saturday I went to a casting call for a new weight loss reality show on ABC called The Revolution. I am excited to announce that I made it to the second round!

Right after I leave school, I’ll be heading over for my on camera interview.  Do you think if I bust out my karaoke version of Ice Ice Baby it might give me an edge? Hmmm…
